Founder Travis Mellish is a man of many skills and talents but has embraced his cooking ingenuity to bring you a product worth endorsing. Gurzel’s Gourmet is based both downtown Toronto and Brampton but catering all over the greater Toronto area. Born in Jamaica as a child, Travis grew up in the poorest of conditions so his family had to work extremely hard to persevere. From humble beginnings come great things and this style of BBQ makes your taste buds dance in excitement. Our traditional style of grilling uses natural herbs, spices and seasonings grown right in my backyard in Jamaica. Our meats are smoked and grilled slowly over low heat with our infamous pimento wood and leaves ensuring the most tender and flavourful meat in town. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation but all the credit goes to his grandmother Gurzela Grant. She was an icon and leader in the community and known for her amazing ability to create culinary masterpieces from nothing. This business pays homage not only to her but the whole community.  Remember, “with granny spice…Everything is nice!”
